ज्ञस्येच्छाद्वेषनिमित्तित्वादारम्भनिवृत्त्योः

Translation/Explanation

इस सूत्र में कहा गया है कि जाननेवाले (ज्ञ) की प्रवृत्ति (आरंभ) और निवृत्ति (रोकना या हटना) का कारण इच्छा और द्वेष होते हैं। अर्थात्, किसी कार्य की शुरुआत या उसका समाप्त होना, दोनों ही मनुष्य की इच्छा या द्वेष के कारण होते हैं।

This sūtra states that both the initiation and cessation of actions by the knower are due to desire and aversion. In other words, the beginning or ending of any action is caused by the presence of desire or aversion in the agent.
