Commentary (टीका)
This verse elucidates the distinction between the *vikāra* (modifications or changes) of *prakṛti* (nature) and the immutable *ātman* (Self). It highlights that all changes and transformations are rooted in *ahaṁkāra* (ego) and conclude with the physical body. However, the *ātman* remains eternally unchanged, unaffected by the transient nature of sensory experiences and material modifications. This emphasizes the Vedantic doctrine that true liberation comes from realization of the Self's unchanging nature amidst the ephemeral existence. Such understanding can cultivate spiritually transformative insights anchored in the reality of the Self beyond the physical plane.
