Commentary (टीका)

This verse underscores the insufficiency of worldly experiences derived from *asat-padārtha* (unreal objects) to provide true *tṛptiḥ* (contentment) or to dispel *duḥkha-hāniḥ* (cessation of sorrow). The emphasis is on the experience of *advaya* (non-dual) *ānanda rasa* (essence of bliss), which inherently provides true satisfaction. By aligning oneself with *sadātma-niṣṭhā* (adherence to the self), one can attain a state of lasting *sukha* (happiness). This ideology is rooted in Vedantic philosophy, which advocates for the realization of the non-dual self as a source of ultimate peace and joy.
