Swami Sivananda notes that this transcendent bliss is realized by the intellect when detached from sensory experiences. Swami Ramsukhdas further elaborates that this supreme happiness is distinct from the joys classified by *sattva*, *rajas*, or *tamas* (the three guṇas or modes of material nature) since it is innate, not derived from any material cause.
