This 'śloka' emphasizes the folly of neglecting one's self-interest, especially after achieving the rare and precious gift of a human body. It stresses that the human form, along with its inherent courage and potential, should not be squandered. The verse serves as a reminder of the importance of utilizing one's life purposefully and wisely. It highlights the unique opportunity afforded by human life to pursue and accomplish meaningful goals, reflecting the essence of *pauruṣa* or inner courage. Such neglect is considered an act of a deluded soul, ignoring the value of life itself and its potential for spiritual advancement.
