जब मुख्य शब्द (प्रधानशब्द) का औचित्य नहीं होता, तब सहायक या गौण शब्द (गुणशब्द) के द्वारा कथन की पुनरावृत्ति होती है। ऐसे में निन्दा या प्रशंसा की संगति (औचित्य) भी सिद्ध होती है। अर्थात, जहाँ मुख्य अर्थ लागू नहीं होता, वहाँ गौण अर्थ के माध्यम से कथन की पुनरुक्ति, निन्दा या प्रशंसा के औचित्य को स्पष्ट करती है।

When the principal term is not applicable, the statement is repeated or restated using the secondary (qualifying) term. In such cases, the appropriateness of censure or praise is also established. That is, where the primary meaning does not apply, the repetition through the secondary meaning clarifies the justification for censure or praise.
