इस सूत्र में कहा गया है कि जैसे वृक्ष के बिना फल उत्पन्न नहीं हो सकता, वैसे ही जब किसी वस्तु का आधार (आश्रय) नहीं होता, तो उसका भी अस्तित्व नहीं हो सकता। इस प्रकार, आधार के अभाव से किसी वस्तु के अभाव का अनुमान किया जाता है, और यह अनुमान वृक्ष के फल की उत्पत्ति के उदाहरण से स्पष्ट किया गया है।

English

This sūtra states that just as fruit cannot arise without the tree, similarly, in the absence of a substratum, the existence of a property or entity is not possible. Thus, the absence of the substratum is inferred from the absence of the property, and this inference is illustrated by the example of the production of fruit from a tree.
