यह सूत्र बताता है कि जो वस्तु स्वयं किसी अन्य के द्वारा उत्पन्न की गई है, वह कारण नहीं हो सकती। अर्थात्, किसी वस्तु का ‘तत्कारितत्व’ (किसी अन्य के द्वारा उत्पन्न होना) उसे ‘अहेतु’ (अकारण) बना देता है, अर्थात् वह स्वयं कारण नहीं है।

This sūtra states that an entity which is itself produced by something else cannot serve as a cause. In other words, the state of being produced by another (tatkāritatva) renders something a non-cause (ahetu); it is not itself a cause.
