यह सूत्र कहता है कि मन एक ही है, क्योंकि ज्ञान के लिए और उसकी उत्पत्ति के कारण ऐसा माना जाता है। मन के एकत्व का निर्णय उसके औगपद्य (ज्ञान के उत्पन्न होने) से किया जाता है, अर्थात् अनेक ज्ञानों के लिए अलग-अलग मन की आवश्यकता नहीं है, एक ही मन पर्याप्त है।

This sūtra states that the mind is one, as established by the purpose of cognition and the reason of origination. The uniqueness of the mind is inferred from the process of cognition; that is, there is no need for multiple minds for multiple cognitions—one mind suffices.
