इस सूत्र में कहा गया है कि स्मरण (स्मृति) का काल निश्चित नहीं होता। अर्थात्, स्मरण का समय पूर्व-निर्धारित या स्थिर नहीं है, वह अनिश्चित रहता है। न्याय के अनुसार, स्मृति का उदय किसी निश्चित समय पर नहीं होता, बल्कि यह अनियत रूप से उत्पन्न होती है।

This sūtra states that the time of recollection (memory) is not fixed. In other words, the occurrence of memory is not predetermined or stable; it remains indeterminate. According to Nyāya, the arising of memory does not occur at a set time but happens in an unfixed, indeterminate manner.
