इस सूत्र में कहा गया है कि किसी अन्य वस्तु का निश्चय या स्थापन उच्चतर या श्रेष्ठ सत्ता के द्वारा ही होता है। अर्थात्, किसी विषय का अंतिम निर्णय या प्रमाण किसी अधिक प्रमाणिक या श्रेष्ठ साधन द्वारा ही संभव है। यह न्यायशास्त्र की प्रमाण-परम्परा की ओर संकेत करता है, जहाँ एक प्रमाण दूसरे प्रमाण से परखा या स्थापित किया जाता है।

English

This sūtra states that the ascertainment or establishment of one entity is accomplished by a superior or higher authority. In other words, the final determination or validation of a subject is possible only through a more authoritative or superior means. This refers to the Nyāya doctrine of pramāṇa succession, where one means of knowledge is validated or established by another, more authoritative means.
