इस सूत्र में कहा गया है कि पृथ्वी तत्त्व की उपस्थिति का अनुमान तब किया जाता है जब उसमें अन्य कोई विशेष गुण (जैसे गंध) का अनुभव होता है। अर्थात्, जब किसी वस्तु में पृथ्वी के विशिष्ट गुण का बोध होता है, तब उसके आधार पर हम पृथ्वी तत्त्व की सत्ता का अनुमान करते हैं।

This sūtra states that the presence of the earth element is inferred when a different (distinct) quality is perceived in an object. That is, when a unique quality (such as smell) associated with earth is experienced, it leads to the inference of the existence of the earth element.
