इस सूत्र में कहा गया है कि वीतराग, अर्थात् जिसमें कोई आसक्ति या राग नहीं है, उसका जन्म प्रत्यक्ष या अनुभव में नहीं आता। अर्थात्, वीतराग अवस्था का जन्म देखा नहीं जाता, इसलिए उसका जन्म नहीं माना जाता। यह तर्क आत्मा की शुद्ध अवस्था के संबंध में है, जहाँ राग-रहितता को जन्मरहित या अजन्मा बताया गया है।

This sūtra states that the birth (origination) of one who is free from passion (vītarāga) is not observed. That is, the state of being free from attachment is never seen to originate; therefore, it is considered unborn. This reasoning is applied in the context of the pure self, where freedom from passion is regarded as birthless or eternal.
