न; आत्मप्रतिपत्तिहेतूनां मनसि सम्भवात्

यह सूत्र कहता है कि आत्मा के ज्ञान के जो कारण हैं, वे मन में उत्पन्न नहीं होते। अर्थात्, आत्मा की प्रतिपत्ति के लिए जो कारण अपेक्षित हैं, वे केवल मन के स्तर पर संभव नहीं हैं; उनके लिए अन्य साधनों की आवश्यकता है।

This sūtra states that the causes of self-cognition do not arise in the mind. In other words, the means necessary for the knowledge of the self are not possible merely within the mind; other instruments or means are required beyond the mind for self-cognition.
