इस सूत्र में कहा गया है कि जब अर्थ को ग्रहण किया जाता है, तब वाक्य के विभाजन की आवश्यकता होती है। अर्थात्, अर्थ की प्राप्ति के लिए वाक्य के विभिन्न भागों को अलग-अलग समझना आवश्यक है। यह न्यायशास्त्र में वाक्य के अर्थ-निर्णय की प्रक्रिया को स्पष्ट करता है।

This sūtra states that the apprehension of meaning requires the division of a sentence. In other words, in order to grasp the intended meaning, it is necessary to distinguish and analyze the different parts of a sentence. This clarifies the process of determining sentence meaning in the Nyāya system.
