इस सूत्र में कहा गया है कि शब्द और अर्थ के संयुक्त बोध का निषेध इसलिए है क्योंकि वह केवल सामान्य या एक ही समय में होने के कारण नहीं हो सकता। अर्थात्, केवल सामयिकता के आधार पर शब्द और अर्थ का एक साथ बोध नहीं माना जा सकता।

This sūtra states that the cognition combining word and meaning is negated because it cannot arise merely from simultaneity or commonness. In other words, the joint cognition of word and meaning cannot be established solely on the basis of occurring at the same time.
