घटे नष्टे यथा व्योम व्योमैव भवति स्फुटम् । तथैवोपाधिविलये ब्रह्मैव ब्रह्मवित्स्वयम् ॥ ५६५ ॥

Transliteration (लिप्यांतरण)
ghate naṣṭe yathā vyoma vyomaiva bhavati sphuṭam | tathaivopādhi-vilaye brahmaiva brahmavit svayam || 565 ||
Translation (अनुवाद)
Just as when a pot is destroyed, space becomes clearly space itself, similarly, when conditioning is dissolved, the knower of Brahman becomes Brahman itself.

Commentary (टीका)
This verse uses the analogy of a pot and space to explain the Vedantic concept of non-duality (*advaita*). When a pot is destroyed, the space within it merges with the larger space, indicating that the apparent limitation (upādhi) was never real. Similarly, when the conditioning factors (upādhis) like ego and individuality dissolve, the individual self (*jīva*) realizes its true nature as Brahman. Here, the emphasis is on realizing one's true self beyond the false identification with temporary conditions. The verse highlights that the essence of the knower of Brahman is, in fact, Brahman itself, which alone exists beyond all distinctions.
