Commentary (टीका)
This sloka emphasizes the qualities of the supreme Self, characterized as self-effulgent and possessing infinite power. The term svayaṁjyotiḥ implies that the Self does not depend on anything else for its illumination. Anantaśaktiḥ suggests limitless potentiality inherent in the Self. It is described as aprameya, beyond measurement and comprehension, and as sakala-anubhūti, it pervades all experiences. The sloka states that the supreme knower of Brahman, brahmavid, having realized this Self, becomes free from worldly bonds and triumphs. This reflects the ultimate goal of Vedantic philosophy – liberation and the realization of one's true nature.
