Commentary (टीका)
This verse highlights the importance of adhering to a suitable diet and regular consumption of medicine for a patient to achieve good health. The emphasis is on practical actions and disciplined lifestyle over other unrelated endeavors. Pathya (suitable diet) and auṣadhasevā (medicine consumption) are crucial factors that contribute to ārogyasiddhi (attainment of health), underscoring that appropriate actions aligned with health practices are fundamental for recovery and wellness. This aligns with the holistic approach central to Ayurveda and traditional medicinal systems, advocating that proper dietary and medicinal habits are indispensable for overcoming illness.
