Commentary (टीका)

The sloka emphasizes the core Vedantic teaching of *advaita*, or non-duality. It elucidates that the entire universe, from the unmanifest to the gross, is nothing but an illusion, appearing real to the perceiver. The essence is the non-dual Brahman, which is subtle, infinite, and beyond the attributes of beginning and end. This recognition of self as Brahman is the culmination of self-realization where the individual transcends the illusion of separateness and merges with the infinite reality. Through this understanding, the realization of "Tat Tvam Asi" (That Thou Art) is achieved, reinforcing the idea that I am that non-dual Brahman.
