न हि प्रबुद्धः प्रतिभासदेहे देहोपयोगिन्यपि च प्रपञ्चे । करोत्यहन्तां ममतानिदन्तां किन्तु स्वयं तिष्ठति जागरेण ॥ ४५५ ॥

na hi prabuddhaḥ pratibhāsa-dehe dehopayoginyapi ca prapañce | karotyahantāṁ mamatā-nidantāṁ kintu svayaṁ tiṣṭhati jāgareṇa || 455 ||
Translation (अनुवाद)
The awakened soul does not identify with the illusory body or the phenomenal world, and stands firmly in awareness without ego or attachment.

Commentary (टीका)
This verse explores the distinction between the enlightened self and the illusionary nature of ego and attachment. The prabuddha or enlightened one does not identify with the pratibhāsa-deha, or the illusory body, nor with the prapañca, the diverse phenomenal world. Instead, the enlightened remains firmly in jāgara, awareness, free from ahantā, the ego-centric 'I', and mamatā, the possessive 'mine'. This signifies a transcendence from the mundane experiences of pleasure and pain, a central tenet in Vedantic philosophy. Such awareness is akin to being awakened from a dream, maintaining equipoise amidst life's dualities.
