Commentary (टीका)
This verse highlights the concept of the 'sarva-vyāpi' (सर्वव्यापी) or the all-pervasive nature of the 'ātman' (आत्मन्), the universal self. It emphasizes that the Self, which is the ultimate reality, transcends physical boundaries and directions. The repeated use of "svayam" (स्वयं) signifies the intrinsic presence of the self in all conceivable realms and directions. This underscores the fundamental tenet of 'advaita' (अद्वैत), or non-duality, which teaches that the Self is not divided by space or time. The Self is indeed ever-present, an 'ananta' (अनन्त) or infinite reality that envelopes everything. This philosophical insight serves to remind us of the inherent unity of existence and the illusory nature of separation, promoting spiritual enlightenment and liberation.
