Commentary (टीका)

This sloka is a profound invocation for divine grace and upliftment. The devotee addresses the Lord as *svāmin*, highlighting a personal relationship, and *nata-loka-bandho*, the friend of the humbled world, emphasizing the Lord's role as a savior for those who are humble and surrendered. The phrase *kāruṇya-sindho* depicts the Lord as an endless source of compassion, an ocean that can engulf all sorrows. The devotee, feeling lost in the vast ocean of worldly troubles (*bhava-abdhi*), seeks the Lord's *kaṭākṣa*, His compassionate glance, empowering enough to lift the fallen. This glance is described as a shower of the nectar of *āti-kāruṇya*, profound compassion, which symbolizes the transformative and healing power of divine grace. This sloka encapsulates the essence of seeking shelter in divine will and the expectant deliverance through unwavering faith.
