Commentary (टीका)

In this verse, the *yati* (ascetic) is instructed to abandon any *asadanusandhi* (false associations) that lead to the *bandha-hetu* (cause of bondage). By adopting the right *ātma-dṛṣṭi* (vision of the self) and contemplating "I am" (*aham asmi*), a practitioner can remain rooted in the truth of their true nature. Through such *niṣṭhā* (steadfastness) in *brahman*, the *parama-vidyā* (supreme knowledge) is realized, and it is this true knowledge through *svānubhūti* (self-realization) that *harati* (removes) the perceived *duḥkha* (suffering). The verse underlines the inevitable joy and cessation of suffering that follow from unwavering dedication to self-knowledge.
