Commentary (टीका)
This verse emphasizes the enduring power of truth and the fleeting nature of falsehood. The person who is devoted to satya (truth) attains lasting mahatmya (greatness) and vimukti (liberation), symbolizing the eternal and noble virtues in life. Conversely, those engrossed in mithyā (falsehood) suffer ultimate dissolution and destruction. The verse illustrates a fundamental moral principle that one should align with truth to achieve authentic success and liberation. The comparison between the acāura (honest one) and the caura (thief) serves as a metaphor for societal views on ethics and the inevitable consequences of one's choices.
