Commentary (टीका)

This sloka delineates the pathway to liberation by addressing the cessation of 'kriyā' (actions) as a way to eliminate *cintā* (worries). It stresses that when habitual tendencies or *vāsanā* are completely eradicated (prakṣaya), one's self is liberated (mokṣa), leading to *jīvanmukti*, the state of enlightenment while living. The process underscores the importance of transcending habitual actions and thoughts to attain spiritual freedom. Such liberation while alive represents the utmost spiritual accomplishment, embodying the ideal of being unaffected by worldly tendencies.
