Commentary (टीका)
This verse conveys the importance of spiritual wisdom in overcoming the ego, symbolized here as a serpent with three heads. The brahmānanda, or the bliss of realization of Brahman, is depicted as a treasure that is surrounded by the fierce serpent of ahaṅkāra. The dhīraḥ, or wise one, uses the vijñāna, the sword of knowledge, to sever and uproot this metaphorical serpent, thus becoming capable of experiencing the divine bliss. The three heads can be interpreted as manifestations of ignorance, desire, and attachment, which are transcended through spiritual insight and understanding, leading to the state of liberation.
