Commentary (टीका)

This verse from Vedantic literature emphasizes the dissolution of ego-based misconceptions. The notion 'I am he' is a construct of the deluded intellect (*buddhi*) under the influence of ignorance (*tamas*). When this illusory belief is entirely annihilated, what remains is the realization of one's true nature as Brahman, unobstructed by former delusions. This process represents the journey from false identification to the ultimate understanding of self, leading to liberation and enlightenment. Such a realization highlights that the obstructions were only mental constructs, and in their absence, the truth of one's identity with Brahman shines forth naturally.
