Commentary (टीका)

This verse expounds on the concept of *advaita* or non-duality, emphasizing that the world is not separate from the *parātman* (Supreme Self). The apparent distinction we perceive between the world and the Supreme is due to *mṛṣā* (false) perceptions, akin to perceiving qualities such as color or shape that do not exist independently of the objects. This *prātīti* (illusory perception of separateness) is a product of *brama* (delusion). The verse suggests that the underlying reality or *adhiṣṭhāna* (substratum) of everything is one with the Supreme Self, and any perceived separation is simply a delusion. This is a fundamental teaching within Vedantic philosophy, which challenges the common perception of duality between the observer and the observed.
