Commentary (टीका)
This verse delves into the Vedantic idea of transcending the physical and mental layers to realize the true self. The deha (body), dhiyam (mind), and cit-pratibimbam (reflection of consciousness) are to be renounced by the seeker. These elements are seen as transient and a hindrance to realizing the atma (self), which is the akhanda-bodha (indivisible consciousness). Situated within the buddhi (intellect), which resides metaphorically in the guhā (cave) of the heart, the self is to be discerned as sarva-prakāśa (all-illuminating) and distinct from both the real and the unreal. The verse emphasizes the necessity of negating the non-self to experience the innate reality of one's true essence, culminating in a profound state of realization beyond duality.
