Commentary (टीका)
This sloka challenges the notion of absolute identity with bliss (ānanda) or delusion (māyā) for the supreme soul (parātmā). The term sopādhikatvāt highlights the constraints imposed by upādhis or attachments. The verse emphasizes that these transformations are due to the effects of virtuous deeds, as prakṛti, though responsible for the manifold manifestations, remains an inherent limitation. The philosophical insight here is about transcending the cyclical nature of existence — driven by actions and their consequences — and realizing the boundless essence of the supreme soul that is distinct from temporal changes and influences.
