Commentary (टीका)

The verse emphasizes the importance of prescribed means or practices as defined by the wise for attaining success. The term *sādhanā* denotes the necessary tools or methods that facilitate spiritual or practical achievement. The wise sages (*manīṣibhiḥ*) have delineated these essential practices, indicating that success is contingent upon their presence. This highlights a fundamental aspect of discipline in spiritual practice, emphasizing that without the foundational tools, the goal or realization remains unattainable. This teaches us about diligence and adherence to established practices laid down by enlightened individuals.
