Commentary (टीका)

This sloka emphasizes the Vedantic philosophy of overcoming the dehātma-bhāva, or the mistaken identification of the self with the body, which is viewed as the root cause of human suffering, starting from birth. The term asaddhiyām indicates those whose understanding is flawed or misguided. The essential teaching here is the importance of renouncing this identification through sincere effort (prayatnāt). Once this identification is broken, and the mind becomes tyakte, meaning free or untainted by such identifications, there arises a state where the desire for rebirth (punaḥ bhavāśā) no longer exists. This reflects a profound state of liberation or moksha where one transcends the cycles of saṁsāra, or the cycle of birth and death.
