Commentary (टीका)
This verse emphasizes the importance of ātma-anātma-viveka (discrimination between the Self and the non-Self) as a crucial practice for those who seek liberation (mokṣa). The viduṣā (wise person) must engage in this discrimination to free themselves from worldly bondage. Upon realizing one's true nature (sat-cid-ānanda), one naturally becomes ānandī (blissful). This realization is not merely intellectual but is deeply experiential, allowing one to perceive beyond the illusory distinctions of the material world and experience the ultimate truth of their being. The verse highlights how this discernment removes ignorance and unveils the innate bliss that is the essence of the Self.
