Commentary (टीका)
This verse poetically describes the realization of the self (ātman) within the purest aspect (sattva) of one's being, specifically in the 'cave of the intellect' (dhīguhā). Here, the 'unmanifest ether' (avyākṛta ākāśa) represents the boundless and infinite space of consciousness. Just as the sun illuminates the world with its light, the 'inner ether' shines brilliantly, lighting up the entire universe. This symbolizes the illuminating power of self-realization, where one's own inherent brilliance ('self-light') disperses the darkness of ignorance, revealing the interconnectedness of all existence. This concept links to notions of 'prakāśa' or enlightenment, demonstrating how intrinsic energy and realization transform individual perception.
