Commentary (टीका)
This sloka delves into the Vedantic exploration of the *antah-atma* or inner self. It refers to the eternal and ancient aspect of the self, which is beyond the temporal physical body (*puruṣaḥ purāṇaḥ*). It emphasizes the non-dual and indivisible experience of bliss (*nirantarākhaṇḍasukhānubhūtiḥ*), highlighting that the true nature of consciousness is undivided happiness. The *antah-atma* is described as being unchanging and ever-present (*sadaikarūpaḥ*), representing pure consciousness (*pratibodhamātro*). This conscious, ever-present self, brilliantly directs the speech and life forces (*vāg asavaḥ*), reinforcing the Vedantic understanding of the self as the ultimate reality that enlivens and guides all functions.
