Commentary (टीका)
This verse describes the characteristics of a person who is harmonized by yoga (yoga-yuktaḥ). Such an individual possesses a purified mind (viśuddha-ātmā) and has control over himself (vijitātmā) as well as his senses (jitendriyaḥ). The core realization of this yogi is the presence of the Self (ātma) within all beings, which fosters a sense of unity and non-difference (sarvabhūtātma-bhūtātmā). Despite being engaged in actions (karman), he remains untainted (na lipyate) by them, due to his detachment and understanding of the essential unity of all being. The verse emphasizes the importance of self-control, mental purity, and universal perception of the self for attaining liberation (moksha), teaching that actions performed without attachment do not bind the doer.
