Sloka (श्लोक)
नादत्ते कस्यचित्पापं न चैव सुकृतं विभुः। अज्ञानेनावृतं ज्ञानं तेन मुह्यन्ति जन्तवः।।5.15।।

nādatte kasyacit pāpaṁ na caiva sukṛtaṁ vibhuḥ | ajñānenāvṛtaṁ jñānaṁ tena muhyanti jantavaḥ ||5.15||
Translation (अनुवाद)
The Lord neither takes on the sin nor the virtue of anyone. Due to ignorance, knowledge is veiled; consequently, beings are deluded.

The sloka highlights a crucial philosophical insight from Bhagavad Gita: the divine being, referred to here as *vibhu* (विभु), does not take on the *pāpa* (sin) or *sukṛta* (virtue) of any individual. This signifies that the Lord acts without attachment and is impervious to the results of karma (actions), whether good or bad.
The root cause of delusion among beings is *ajñāna* (ignorance), which covers their innate knowledge, leading them to falsely identify themselves as the doer of actions and experience resultant desires and bondages.
