śraddhāvān labhate jñānaṁ tatparaḥ saṁyatendriyaḥ
jñānaṁ labdhvā parāṁ śāntim acireṇādhigacchati
Translation (अनुवाद)
A person full of śraddhā (faith), devoted (to the goal), and who has control over the senses, obtains jñāna (knowledge). Having obtained this knowledge, he swiftly attains supreme peace.

The term śraddhā refers to deep-rooted faith, which is the trust in divine principles, scriptures, and the guidance of a guru. It is indispensable for the aspirant to possess unwavering faith. Tātparya or devotion indicates single-minded dedication towards spiritual practice. Saṁyatendriyaḥ signifies the control over one's senses, denoting the necessity of disciplining the senses to focus on the spiritual path.
