Sloka (श्लोक)
प्रसादे सर्वदुःखानां हानिरस्योपजायते। प्रसन्नचेतसो ह्याशु बुद्धिः पर्यवतिष्ठते।।2.65।।

Transliteration (लिप्यांतरण)
prasāde sarva-duḥkhānām hānir asya upajāyate। prasanna-chetasaḥ hi āśu buddhiḥ paryavatiṣṭhate।।2.65।।
Translation (अनुवाद)
In the state of prasāda (peace), all sorrows (sarva-duḥkhānām) are destroyed for him. The intellect (buddhiḥ) of the person with a tranquil mind (prasanna-chetasaḥ) quickly becomes steady (paryavatiṣṭhate).

Commentary (टीका)
The verse discusses the transformative power of tranquility (prasāda) on one's mind and intellect. When a person attains prasāda, it removes all distress (sarva-duḥkhānām hāniḥ), leading to the cessation of suffering. The heart of the sloka is the idea that mental peace allows the intellect (buddhi) to stabilize and reside in true knowledge or the Self.
Swami Sivananda explains that in a state of peace, there is no longer a craving for sense-objects. With a calm mind or tranquility, the Yogi (practitioner) has mastery over his reasoning. This intellectual steadiness or resoluteness leads to the end of miseries, both body and mind.
Swami Ramsukhdas in Hindi highlights that when attachments are absent, thoughts of sense-objects no longer cause a fall. In the absence of attachment (संवेदनहीनता), the practitioner finds their inner constitution steady even while engaging with the world.
Both commentators emphasize that true mental tranquility leads to the dissolution of mundane sorrows, allowing one's intellect and reason to stabilize within the self, leading to spiritual upliftment. This verse thus connects mental peace with liberation and higher consciousness, emphasizing the importance of inner calmness in the spiritual journey.
