Transliteration (लिप्यांतरण)
vāsānsi jīrṇāni yathā vihāya navāni gṛhṇāti naro'parāṇi। tathā śarīrāṇi vihāya jīrṇā- nyanyāni saṁyāti navāni dehī।।2.22।।
Translation (अनुवाद)
As a person discards worn-out clothes and puts on new ones, similarly, the soul (dehī) leaves behind worn-out bodies and enters new ones.
जैसे मनुष्य पुराने कपड़े छोड़कर नए कपड़े धारण करता है, वैसे ही आत्मा पुरानी देहों को छोड़कर नई देहों में प्रवेश करती है।

In this sloka from the Bhagavad Gita, the comparison is drawn between a person changing clothes and the soul transitioning between bodies.
