Translation/Explanation
English
When all kāmāḥ abiding in the hṛd of this person are completely released, then the mṛtyaḥ becomes amṛtaḥ and here, in this very life, attains brahman.
Commentary
When, for the person who has realized the truth, all kāmāḥ that were abiding in the hṛd (intellect) before the attainment of knowledge, are released due to the absence of anything else to be desired (since the intellect, not the ātman, is the seat of desires, as indicated by other śruti), then the mṛtyaḥ (who was so before knowledge) subsequently becomes amṛtaḥ, as ignorance, desire, and karma are destroyed. He attains brahman even here, with no need for any further going, as death (which results in transmigration) is destroyed, like fire extinguished, with all bondage removed.
