Translation/Explanation

English: That Aditi, who is born along with prāṇa, who is devatā-mayī (manifested as all devatās), who, having entered the cave of the heart, abides there, and who was born along with the bhūtas (elements)—verily, this is that (tat).

Commentary

Devatā-mayī means "in the form of all the devatās (divine manifestations)." Prāṇena, "along with prāṇa," refers to Hiranyagarbha, the cosmic vital principle, who is born from the highest Brahman. Aditi is so called because she, as it were, consumes (experiences) all objects such as sounds, etc. The mantra describes her as the one who, having entered the heart, abides there. She is also said to be born along with the bhūtas (elements or living beings).
