Translation/Explanation
English: By the manas alone can this reality be attained; there is no nānā (difference) here at all. He who perceives nānā (difference) here goes from mṛtyu (death) to mṛtyu (death).
Commentary
Before attaining the knowledge of the oneness, by the manas purified by the śāstras and by the preceptor, this unalloyed essence of the brahman should be attained in the form ‘There is brahman alone, nothing else exists.’ When attained, ignorance, the cause of the perception of nānā (difference) being removed, there is not even the slightest difference here, i.e., in the brahman. But he who does not give up the perception of nānā (difference) continues in the cycle of mṛtyu (death).
