यस्तु विज्ञानवान्भवति युक्तेन मनसा सदा । तस्येन्द्रियाणि वश्यानि सदश्वा इव सारथेः ॥ ६ ॥
yastu vijñānavānbhavati yuktena manasā sadā | tasyendriyāṇi vaśyāni sadaśvā iva sāratheḥ || 6 ||

Translation/Explanation
Hindi: परन्तु जो व्यक्ति आत्मज्ञान से युक्त है और जिसका मन सदा संयमित रहता है, उसकी इन्द्रियाँ सदैव वश में रहती हैं, जैसे उत्तम सारथी के अच्छे घोड़े वश में रहते हैं। यहाँ ‘विज्ञानवान्’ वह है जिसे आत्मा का बोध है, और ‘युक्त मन’ वह है जो निरंतर संयमित है; ऐसे व्यक्ति की इन्द्रियाँ सहज ही नियंत्रित रहती हैं, जैसे योग्य सारथी के अच्छे घोड़े।
English: But for the one who possesses vijñāna (Self-knowledge) and whose manas (mind) is always yuktatā (disciplined), his indriyāni (senses) remain under control, just as the good horses of a sāratheḥ (charioteer) are manageable. Here, ‘vijñānavān’ refers to one with realization of the ātman, and ‘yuktena manasā’ means a mind that is perpetually restrained; such a person’s indriyāni are naturally controllable, like the excellent horses guided by a skilled sāratheḥ.
Commentary
But of him who is a sāratheḥ, the contrary of one already explained, i.e., of the sāratheḥ who knows and who has the manas always under restraint, the indriyāni standing in the place of the horses can be let go or stopped, i.e., controlled like the good horses of the other sāratheḥ.
