Mantra 1.2.13

एतच्छ्रुत्वा संपरिगृह्य मर्त्यः प्रवृह्य धर्म्यमणुमेतमाप्य ।
	स मोदते मोदनीयँ हि लब्ध्वा विवृतँ सद्म नचिकेतसं मन्ये ॥ १३ ॥
etacchrutvā saṃparigṛhya martyaḥ pravṛhya dharmyamaṇumetamāpya ।
	sa modate modanīyam̐ hi labdhvā vivṛtam̐ sadma naciketasaṃ manye ॥ 13 ॥

Translation/Explanation

Hindi: इस विषय को सुनकर और भलीभाँति समझकर, नश्वर जीव जब धर्मयुक्त सूक्ष्म आत्मा को शरीर आदि से पृथक् करके प्राप्त कर लेता है, तब वह उस आनन्दकारक वस्तु को प्राप्त करके आनन्दित होता है। मैं समझता हूँ कि नचिकेतस के लिए वह ब्रह्मलोक का द्वार पूर्ण रूप से खुला है।

English: Having heard and well-grasped this subject, the mortal being, by abstracting the dharmya (virtuous) subtle ātman from the body and such, and attaining this subtle ātman, rejoices upon obtaining that which causes joy. I think that the mansion (sadma) is wide open for Naciketas.

Commentary

Again, having heard this, the true ātman which I shall explain to you—from the presence of the preceptor and well-grasped it as his own Self, having abstracted the dharmya ātman from the body, etc., and having realized this subtle ātman, the learned mortal rejoices having obtained what gives him joy, i.e., the ātman. The door of such abode of Brahman is, I think, wide open for you, Naciketas. The drift is ‘I think you worthy of emancipation.’
