एतत्तुल्यं यदि मन्यसे वरं वृणीष्व वित्तं चिरजीविकां च ।
	महाभूमौ नचिकेतस्त्वमेधि कामानां त्वा कामभाजं करोमि ॥ २४ ॥

etattulyaṃ yadi manyase varaṃ vṛṇīṣva vittaṃ cirajīvikāṃ ca |
	mahābhūmau naciketastvamedhi kāmānāṃ tvā kāmabhājaṃ karomi || 24 ||

Translation/Explanation

Hindi: यदि तुम इस वर के समान कोई अन्य वर समझते हो, तो वह भी मांग लो—धन और दीर्घायु भी मांग लो; हे नचिकेतस, विशाल पृथ्वी के राजा बनो, मैं तुम्हें सभी भौतिक और दिव्य इच्छाओं का भोगी बना दूँगा।

English: If you consider any other boon equal to this, choose that as well—wealth and longevity; O Naciketas, become the king of the vast earth. I shall make you the enjoyer of all desires, both earthly and heavenly.

Commentary

If you think of any other boon equal to that already explained, ask for that also; besides, ask for large quantities of gold and precious stones and longevity as well. In short, rule as king on the wide earth; moreover, I shall make you enjoy all your desires pertaining to humans and devas; for, I am a deva whose will never fails.
