The Blessed Lord said: O Partha, there is neither destruction for him here nor hereafter for anyone who does good, My son. One who does virtuous deeds never falls into an unpleasant state.

This sloka is the Bhagavad Gita's assurance to spiritual seekers that their efforts will not go in vain, regardless of incomplete endeavors in this lifetime. The Lord emphasizes to Arjuna, who He affectionately calls *pārtha* and *tāta*, implying a deep personal connection, that one who performs *kalyāṇakṛt* (virtuous deeds) does not meet with a ruinous fate. Such reassurance indicates that spiritual accumulations continue beyond the present life into the hereafter, securing progress rather than regression.
The commentary by Swami Sivananda underscores the importance of perseverance in spiritual practice and the impossibility of spiritual failure—termed *vināśa*. It implies that although a seeker may not achieve complete perfection in one lifetime, their efforts are preserved by divine grace, leading to future opportunities for completion. Meanwhile, Swami Ramsukhdas highlights how inner sanskāras (impressions) are not lost even if one's external behaviors seem derailed, as seen in narratives like Bharat Muni's. Both commentaries emphasize that divine interventions may seem like setbacks but ultimately serve to awaken and realign the seeker's path toward their spiritual goal.
These interpretations underline the empowerment of individuals striving for liberation, guaranteeing that while temporary stumbling blocks may occur, the powerful momentum of sincere efforts carries one forward infallibly toward eventual enlightenment. ```
