Commentary (टीका)
The sloka emphasizes the state of a *karmayogī* who finds satisfaction in spontaneous gains (*yadṛcchā-lābha santuṣṭaḥ*) without coveting more, thus transcending dualities such as pleasure and pain (*dvandva-atītaḥ*), and living free from envy (*vimatsaraḥ*). This attitude of *samah siddhau-asiddhau* — equanimity in success and failure — allows the individual to perform actions without being bound by their outcomes. The crux of this message is detachment from results, a core tenet of *karmayoga*. While engaged in action, the focus is on the act rather than on the fruits it yields, akin to a burnt seed that remains life-giving relinquished.
