यदृच्छया चोपपन्नं स्वर्गद्वारमपावृतम्। सुखिनः क्षत्रियाः पार्थ लभन्ते युद्धमीदृशम्।।2.32।।

yadṛcchayā copapannaṁ svargadvāramapāvṛtam | sukhinaḥ kṣatriyāḥ pārtha labhante yuddham īdṛśam ||2.32||
Translation (अनुवाद)
O Pārtha, the happy Kṣatriyas obtain such a battle which comes of itself as an open gateway to heaven.

The verse highlights the rare opportunity for a Kṣatriya to engage in a battle that is dharma-yuddha (righteous war), which can come unasked as a divine opportunity to fulfill one's duty. It metaphorically represents such a war as an open gateway to heaven. The dharma of a Kṣatriya is to engage in battle when righteousness calls for it. In the context of the Mahabharata, Arjuna is reminded by Krishna that such a battle should be seen as a fortunate chance to perform his duty—even as circumstances seemingly thrust it upon him. Swami Sivananda’s commentary emphasizes the scripture's decree that dying in such a battle guarantees heaven. Swami Ramsukhdas adds context by describing the background of the opportunities presented to the Pāṇḍavas for peace with Duryodhana, underscoring the idea that the war, although arrived at by fate, was indeed a righteous path that Partha (Arjuna) should take without hesitation.
